Citronella
I have a citronella plant and am thinking of distilling into an aerosol to use as a spray for bugs. Anybody else have any experience with this?

No help yet, huh Bushman?
You may just have to Google distilling citronella if nobody chimes in.
I found a few articles on the matter, and even some You Tubes.
Good Luck.

Re: Citronella
Bushy, I just wanted to say that ironically I got into this hobby while researching distilling essential oils. I didn't get very far before stumbling onto this website and the light bulb going off
.
Anyways, I am asking for a scientific glass distilling set up for oils from the fat man this year. If I get it, ill be planting lots of stuff, including citronella.
Hang in there buddy. You got a partner in crime coming. I'll let you know my adventures

Re: Citronella
A while back someone was posting about a soxhlet extractor.
Basically a collecting cup with an auto drain overflow. Put the citronella in the cup, fill the boilet with neutral. Neutral boils, gets condensed into the collection cup thus marinating the herbs in hot alcohol till the fluid overflows and goes back into the boiler.
This process repeats for as long as you want to.
This may be the way to go? You can find 'em pretty cheap online. Or you could build a bigger mousetrap
