Crossover tubes

I have a 15.5gl keg still with 2in head 18 in tall. 3/4 over to 7.5gl keg thumper, 3/4 to 1/2 worm. My question is has anyone ever installed say 1/2in or 3/8 in crossover tubes on the head tower you allow cool air to flow through to possibly create reflux? Just tinkering around with some ideas. Thanks
