Anyone ever try making an avocado seed liqueur? I have been planning to make a walnut liqueur (and will in the summer.) I was making some guaccamole today and remembered that the pits are actually edible and quite bitter... Gave me the idea of drying them and trying to make an avocado seed liqueur. Anywho.... Anyone ever try it? Am I wasting my time? lol
EDIT:
Just to document what I've done so far (will keep updated as I go - even if just for my own referece)
-6 avocado seeds washed and quartered.
-Put in food dehydrator at 160F for 3 hours.
-The skins fell off the seeds after dehydration so I tossed them. Currently just storing them in a ziplock as my stock of neutral is short until a couple weeks from now.

never heard nor thought about that, didn't even know they were edible.
Keep us updated! I would definitely also macerate some should it turn out well.

Seems to me to be conflicting information out there about the seeds. Depends on what you read and who wrote it.

I've made this before

Now you've got me thinking of making a liqueur out of it.
Rereading the article, they even suggest making falernum out of it. Don't know why I haven't tried it yet.

Interesting articles. I've still not got around to making this... Though I do have a ton of neutral around... So maybe this weekend.
How did the orgeat turn out Corsaire?
Saltbush Bill, yeah I honestly have no idea. Lots of people seem to be consuming it though... and I haven't seen anything saying it is harmful... Just that it hasn't been studied that much.

Re: Avocado seeds/pits
I went to start this tonight and the bag of pits turned into a bag of mold. Guess I didn't dry them as much as I had thought.... I guess if I try again I'll just use them fresh and skip the drying... Or dry them much more...
