I am building a plate tree for my 3” column so I can run rum and whisky in a single pass. I’m planning on 4 or 5 sieve plates, with each plate having 120 x 2.0mm holes which will give around 9% open area, but that might change as I read more.
My question is though, I only have 1 sight glass to put in the column. I have another 4 on the way but they are somewhere between China and here and I don’t know how long they take. Given a choice, which plate would you put the sight glass on? Bottom, top, middle?
