Sight Glass in Down Path

I have been pondering this for a week or two and did some searching, but did not find much on the subject. Bear with me if it sounds ridiculous and unnecessary but could a fellow install a sight glass in the down path?
Not that it would improve quality, but just for the sense of visual notification and that slight coolness factor?
Something such as the picture above...
Opinions? Anyone tried it?

I do have a suitable length of glass, but never thought of putting it in the downward path. I think I would rather use it to spot a puke before before it reached the top, than after.

Depending on the design of the sight glass I suspect its going to cause a pool of liquid before the condenser , That in turn will cause more smearing than that of a normal pot.
Its not going to tell you anything of use there , Chris's idea is much better.

Also add , I’d be worried about the diagonal shear loading On that sightglass in that position with a heavy condenser hanging off it.
There would be less stress on it when vertical . I’d have it below the onion .

All great points. I think now that was a silly idea.

Interesting thought visually, mine are mounted above the boiler to spot foaming, and below the reflux collar.

This is also a very good thought.
