Aging with vacuum

So I moved some stuff out side after a long winter in the basement. Glass carboys. So I check it too much and with the cool weather I noticed that the carboys are under vacuum more than not. I am going to guess that this is pulling on the oak in the carboy and sucking all the goodness out. So anyway I stopped checking on it so much to allow the vac to work it’s magic. Time will tell but I want to beleive I’m on to something.

I lost a glass bottle in the refrigerator presumably from vacuum it did have flat sides.
