Type soxhlet extractor onto the search at the top and if you scroll down past the google adds at the top you will see all the topics on HD forum about them .
So to answer , yes they have been used by a few here before .
It would be interesting to see what also gets extracted from the Green gasket and the plastic hoses in the one you showed…… especially when using alcohol as the solvent .

I believe the iStill uses a variant of this in their Extractor optional add-on.
