Gin recipes mega thread - post your gin recipes
I've done a lot of searching on the forum and I've noticed we don't really have a compilation of gin recipes.
A Google search shows no other forum really has a gin recipe collection thread either so let's start one!
Post absolutely any gin recipes that you have here. This thread can hopefully provide other members like me with inspiration when looking for new botanical combinations to experiment with.
I'd like to keep this thread as decluttered as possible so please just post recipes.

This interests me because gin is one liquor I have yet to make. I've seen a ton of recipes out there but which one? I don't like the pine cone tasting gin. More of something that makes a good Tom Collins.
Of the recipes, do I make a neutral and then add spices or do I use my gin basket? OR do I do both?

Here is one existing thread with a good number of gin recipes in it. It also contains some great general info on ingredients and proportions that will help you build your own recipe. Perhaps this new thread is redundant?
The linked thread Looks like a great place to put tested recipes, but likely QnA on how to make gin or development of new recipes should be put in its own thread to help keep that thread clean.

The thread you linked to does not serve the same purpose as this thread. It's simply one member sharing 7 of his gin recipes. It doesn't even ask other members to share recipes. While the gin formulas are great. It leaves a lot to be desired.OtisT wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 9:55 am Here is one existing thread with a good number of gin recipes in it. With this thread I would like to compile a resource of 100+ gin recipes.
So what I said previously still stands. Come on guys, post your gin recipes and let's start a mega collection.

I don't really have any recipes. I just have a general idea of how to go about making some styles of gin and use whatever I have on hand at the time and run them with the appropriate still configuration.

My favorite commercial gin is Ransom “Old Tom” Gin.
https://imbibemagazine.com/old-tom-gin/
It’s described as a mellow sort of genever. I’d be interested in anyone’s take on that. Honestly it tastes like a subtle gin that’s been mildly aged. I’m thinking I could fairly easily replicate it with a whiskey mash stripped and then vapor infused through my spirit run.

Freedom had been hunted round the globe; reason was considered as rebellion; and the slavery of fear had made men afraid to think. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants, is the liberty of appearing.

Asos , it seems to me you hadn't searched hard at all....until it was pointed out to you, you hadn't even found the forums gin area on the index page.
I can think of at least 3 very good recipes on different forums on the net if you care to look a little harder. NO I won't be doing that work for you.
There is pile of gin related stuff both on the different forums and on the net in general if you take the time to LOOK!

Usually when someone wants to start a thread like this on any forum, they post their own recipe/experience/knowledge in the first post…

Re: Gin recipes mega thread - post your gin recipes
OK, so how about we start with YOUR recipe? I haven’t seen you offer any input, only “take aways”.
Obviously you’re new to this website and the forum. We share, and share a lot! When new hobbiests come here looking for help, we try to do the best we can. But some are teachable…others aren’t.
Gin is an “art form”. There are gin recipes that represent industry standards, sure. But here, we’re “artists”. We can create our own personality in our creations. All this to say is that there are many different possibilities for “signature recipes”, without doubt. Most often, when someone requests recipes (like you have), we’ll refer them to Odin’s EZ gin as a starting point, a springboard for you to create your own creation. When you invest your time to hone your recipe to YOUR taste, then it will indeed “become yours”.
So, as others have noted, there are many, many threads discussing a world of variety of gin products, you can indeed read and discern from them what you may want to include in your own creation. But ultimately, you’ll have to invest the time to make YOUR signature product.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, it’s not meant to be that way. Instead, I encourage you to read and learn and experiment. And then SHARE WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED. This is how you can add value to the website….not by starting a “recipe thread”. OK?
