Key Largo Schnapps

I am old fogy and remember this schnapps from the 90s and they have long since stop making it. Does anybody know where to start for this delicious schnapps? I am assuming it was tropical flavors but can't remember the taste but will know it when I get close.

Save up as many tropical peels and/or fruit as you can find, then steep them overnight in your finest heart cut 30-40% neutral, put it all in your boiler and gin basket and run it.

Add sugar, or simple syrup to taste.

Adjust your recipe and method each time you make one.

Keep good records each time.
