Hello all. I did my first run this weekend. 16 Gal Keg setup with a 5 gal keg for a thumper. Started with 12 gal of 9% ABV sugar wash. Threw out about 700ml of what came off first then started collecting in jars. Started off at 140 proof and stopped collecting in jars at 90. Ran off to 60 in a 3 gal carboy. Ended up with 15 full pints.
My question is what do i keep for drinking?
I see alot of people say keep everything after the fores up till the tails. Once into the tails save those for the next run.
Then i see people say throw out the fores,heads, and tails and only keep the hearts.
How much do you all throw out at the beginning before you start jarring it?
What part of the run does everyone keep for drinking?
