Sources for barrels in Canada

Post by hawkwing »

Where do you Canadians get barrels from? What is the best source? Most affordable, best quality, etc? Are they using air dried wood etc?

You hear crickets? I hear crickets?

Have not had any good experiences myself...

I can get full sized whisky and wine barrels any time. Small appropriately sized barrels are hard to get... unless you like glued barrels.

Crickets???

I think I can get proper oak barrels without glue but they are close to $300 plus shipping.

Crickets... Means silence.

Bochart barrel was glued together. From Toronto.

Asked Gibbs for a shipping quote today. with exchange and shipping I bet it will be well over $300 Canadian.

If I'm not mistaken, some Toronto and Ottawa members have purchase small barrels from them..
