Brew Bag?

Post by Captn Jack »

Howdy, all. Looking at making 15 gals of super sweet corn with malt barley mash with frozen type corn. I am using a 30-gal barrel. I was looking at using an XL brew bag. I guess the concern I have when using a bag with all the chopped-up corn and barely will it ALL ferment ok? To me, it seems the middle part of the mash in the bag won't ferment right. I guess I can go with or without the bag> Thoughts? Thanks.

That will be pretty heavy to try and squeeze all at once. Rack it through the bag after ferment to save your back.

Shouldn’t be an issue as long as you get good conversion prior to ferment. I use 20 gallon fermenters and do 16 gallon mash in a BIAB and ferment on grain using Yellow Label Yeast.

Not sure about frozen corn though because corn meal is my go to. How are you going to grind that?
