I got into this hobby about a year ago. I have been making wine from grapes I pick (350+ bottles/year) for the past 7 years so I have some equipment on hand.
All my life I had heard stories of the dangers of home distillation and simply avoided it.
After watching some videos I realized that the dangers were not what I had been lead to believe.
I use a pot still and stick with corn based AG recipes.
The one piece of equipment from wine making that has made a big difference in efficiency is the bladder press. When I make a 6 gallon mash (I have lots of 6 gallon carboys) and use the bladder press to squeeze the grains i lose less than a pint which give me enough headroom (I wouldn't want to fill it to the top as there would be a mess after a few days of fermentation).
Any way enough about me, I wanted to say hello and thank everyone who post here as I have found much value in the content.
Hello from Florida
