greetings and salutations from rural New England

Post by FoolofCheese »

I have been brewing as a hobby off and on for about I guess about ten years or so now and along the way I picked up a used still from the shop I sold used wine bottle to, it has been a while and I have finally gotten around to be able to experiment with my new bit of kit; I enjoy science have an education background in biology, and some practical work experience with basic chemistry

my short term and more immediate goal with this forum is to clean up, set up, and generally get working the still that I have had hanging around in the back room for a couple years; after that I suspect I will want to make some practical adjustments to make the process easier for myself

I have an "Essential Extractor Pro Series by Brewhaus" I believe it is a kit of some sort

the column is a "Essential Extractor Pot Distiller Column"
I haven't measured the size of the pot as of yet but if I had to guess it is probably five gallons
it came with a propane burner, AL heat diffuser, a rubber bung, analog thermometer, some sorry looking vinyl tubing for the condenser, and some very white looking vinyl tubing for the distillate outlet

I live in rural New England with plenty of access to anything that can be purchased at regular hardware stores or via the internet (within reason)
