Looking for an SS Camco straight holdback element

Post by artooks »

Hi,

Yesterday I fried my element it was an "02929 - 4500W 240V Lime Life Foldback, SS Bush" I changed it with my spare one, now I do not have a spare, therefor wanted to buy one again, the thing is I purchased it almost 6-7 years ago and now I cannot find it, I guess it is out of production.
The things I am looking for is the element to be %100 SS especially the base, and I need it to be short not ripple but straight one, can you recommend any brand model which fits this description, thanks.

Here's a stainless element, but it's not Camco brand. Dernord makes a huge variety of elements. Dernord elements are good to go. I've been using them for years.

Dernord elements are very nice. They work great and I really like that many models come with a shroud to cover the electric connections. I have two 5500W ULWD Dernord elements and they've been working perfectly for years. No rust or any kind of degradation. I really can't think of any criticisms which is pretty rare. I thought I wouldn't like the plastic gland fitting that came with mine and assumed I would replace it with a metal one, but it works just fine and I don't foresee ever having to replace it.

I do have a 5500W Camco, but it's not stainless. The small portion of the body has rust, but it still works just fine.

+1 on the Dernord elements (at least the 240v ones I have).

I have a 5500W ripple that has a short 8" cord with plug on it, and a 3500W straight that has a plug built in.
The 3500 element is bent down from horizontal so that the end is very close to the center bottom, and I accidentally exposed 2-3" at the connection end. It was glowing slightly when I caught it, but after examination it looked fine, and I boiled some water just to be sure it still worked. I've used it several times since with no issues.
