I am thinking about selling my still so that I can upgrade to something better, anything I should be aware of where I should and shouldn't advertise? What I should and shouldn't say. Any advise would be appreciated, I tried on Facebook market place and that was a disaster, I got a bunch of stupid questions from people with no intention of buying it.
Thanks.

What kind of still are you selling, and can you upgrade using parts from your still to build a new one? That's what I did.

As I understand it, it's not illegal to have a still, or buy/sell one. Clawhammer, Brewhaus, MileHi, etc... would have all gotten busted.
I bought a used Brewhaus rig on Ebay after the seller asked this same question on Reddit. There were a few watchers, but no one besides me bid on it.

It's an interesting topic. Nobody in their right mind would answer you confidently, but here's a few thoughts I've had about selling gear...
List it as gear to distill water or essential oil or as 'brewing equipment' or other legal activities.
List components separately possibly with a comment like 'ask me about other gear.'
Ask around local homebrew shops and clubs, somebody may know somebody who's interested.
But realistically, I see distillation gear listed all over the place. Every local homebrew can get you one brand or another. I see manufacturers listing fully assembled products that would be beyond even this forum's rules on their webistes, Facebook, Craigslist, ebay and more. If memory serves it's not illegal to sell stills in the US, but over a certain size gets you on 'a list' whatever that means.
Ultimately you need to decide what your tollerance is to risk and exposure.
Good luck!

Re: How to or not sell a still
Most of my equipment could be sold to home brewers - A keg or a milk can still could be sold as a fermenter. I think If I were to list it on ebay, I would include the picture and describe it as a fermenter.
I occasionally attend home brewing club meetings, so that might be one avenue.

I am planning on taking some pictures and printing them and posting them if they allow me at the local brew supply house. Yea and it was a bit nerve wracking the questions people on market place were asking I kept telling them its for making hand sanitizer during covid and farm fuel.
