Hi yall! I'm May, a new distiller from Dallas, Texas. I'd been skimming the boards here for about a year until a month ago when I started reading intensely about building my own Boka still. Now, my wallet got a little light during my research so I ended up making myself a pot still out of a $5 Goodwill pressure cooker. I did my first cleaning run with that, and realized the gasket was not airtight and in my ignorance decided to order a Chinese 5 gallon pot still for ~$100. No regrets but I ended up having to make an everlasting gasket for that f*cker as well so, cest la vie.
Did my cleaning run and got too impatient to wait for my first wash to finish, so I went and got a gallon of table wine and did my sacrificial run! Got ~ 800ml of product with lots of tails because I was excited. Now Im about 2 days from my first wash being ready and I cant wait to do a real, honest-to-god, "this isnt full of industrial chems" run.
