Wine Cellar Build
Back in 2008, my wife and I planted a vineyard, 330 vines, mostly Pinot Noir. A few years later, we built a wine cellar to hold the barrels and finished wine. Here are a few pictures of the build.

Fanatic build FnF, and what a lovely looking location too, whatever part of the world it is, I'm a bit envious!

Re: Wine Cellar Build
This looks great and I'm considering wine cellar options in the near future.
I did discover that a uhaul storage facility near me has wine lockers that they keep @ 55*F 24/7. A 3' x 3' x 5' locker is just $15/mo and holds about 400 bottles in flatpacks.
Cheers,
jonny

Re: Wine Cellar Build
It does keep fairly constant temperature. Currently it's 48 and will get up to about 60 during the summer. There's about 1500 bottles in there . No way my wife and I could drink that much wine in our lifetime. We can't sell it so we just give it away to friends. Unfortunately most of our friends are beer drinkers.
I'm considering not making any wine this season and selling off the grapes instead.

Yeah, I ran quite a lot in '22. There is 45 gallons of last years Pinot that has not been sulfited that I could run, but I already have enough brandy to last a while. All the wine in bottles has had sulfite added, so they are out.

Re: Wine Cellar Build
I made what seems to me to be nice brandy out of ordinary bottles of wine, with sulfite, that were too old or were rejected.FuzzNFroth wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 6:00 pm Yeah, I ran quite a lot in '22.
