Using reflux during stripping run

So I turn off the dephlegmator and it becomes a pot still (no reflux) for stripping runs. Why do this? Leaving the dephlegmator operational results in more contaminants being rejected and "cleaner" low wines. Plus, the still pretty much controls itself at the end. Instead of waiting for it to drop to 20% ABV (which also carries across more heavy oils), the dephlegmator cuts off the flow when the vapor doesn't contain any more ethanol.
