Hi there,
Happy to have found this group.
I’ve been brewing beer and wine for almost 40 years and picked up a copper pot still a couple of years ago.
I’ve dabbled a bit, but would love to glean some of the knowledge here.
I’m currently making a more efficient condenser for the still out of some 2” dwv copper pipe and some 1/4” copper refrigerator line. I want a more secure way to hook up cold water, the can condenser that came with it is a bit sloppy.
It would be fun to make some peaty scotches, I’m a big fan, but also brandy, since I get about 30 gallons worth of wine a year.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
George

Hello MrFancyFingers, the prior brewing experience will help a lot with you falling down this rabbit hole. There are lots of good recipes in the tried and true recipes that can help you. 30 gallons of wine would be a great start on brandy, I haven't been down the brandy path myself. I have stayed with grains so far. Good luck, stay safe. There are lots of very experienced distillers here, all you need to do is some research using the search function and if you cant find what you are looking for cry Uncle and someone will help.

Re: Hello
Welcome to the forum.
Seems to be you are well on your way to making some yummy liquor. As previously stated there are many threads on running fruit and all the joys that come with that.
Sounds like the makings of a nice dimroth condenser.

Re: Hello
I think it’s actually a Graham condenser that I’m going to hook up to an aquarium chiller and pump.
I think brandy will be my first run, but I’ve ordered some molasses, time to start a dunder bucket.
