Hello,
I am new to distilling and have lurked around the forums as a learning resource for a few months now. My wife and I got interested in the hobby based on the "tv show that shall not be named." We thought it could be an interesting hobby for us to do together and it has been.
We started out with a Vevor 5 gal stovetop with thumper purchased from Amazon. One of the things I learned from your forums to replace all the gaskets with PTFE for safety.
With the modified Vevor, we have produced a sugar wash, a Dextrose/Flaked Corn Sugar wash and now our current, all grain, 2 row/flaked corn recipe. We produce ~900ml of 140 proof after splitting 6 gal of mash into 2 runs each weekend and drink it un-aged, proofed down to 100-110.
Now, we have purchased a Brewzilla Gen 4, 35 l ,110V and a Still Spirits Alembic Dome and Condenser. We are looking forward to experimenting with more complex Whiskey mashes and also with other types of spirits.
