Shit like this from leftarded media infuriates the shit out of me
I didn’t notice any particular political bias in the article linked. The only bias I see here is yours, and it doesn’t add anything useful to the conversation in my opinion. Let’s leave religion and politics at the door and focus on something we can all agree on - the pleasure of our journey in our shared hobby and passion.

c. Be polite and courteous. Remember that nobody is perfect and nobody knows everything. We've all got our strengths and limitations, which is why we share information with each other in the first place. Remember that we're all different and nothing is going to change that fact.
f. Do not discuss religion or politics. These forums are a friendly place for a community which shares a common interest: creating high quality spirits. These discussions only divide people and quickly lead to flaming and hard feelings.

OK, the leftard comment was maybe a bit much but the Bias is in the totally inaccurate explanation for the origin of the methanol that poisoned those poor buggers.
Apparently 11 staff from the club/hotel have been arrested but supposedly the alcohol cam from a "Run Down factory that makes Whiskey and Vodka".
like that makes sense.
And then there is the description of the distillation process from two "expert" sources that is just plain wrong
300ml cut on a 1000l wash and that gets rid of methanol ?
the ABC never lets the facts get in the way of a good story.
My point was that the general masses that read this article will come away with the idea that any spirits that are not "Commercial" could kill you.

Bias is not the same as misunderstanding or misinformation. Yes, the article is wrong about the methanol. In fairness there are many people who simply take for granted that methanol poisoning is a serious risk in any distilling, and that only the commercial distillers have the equipment and skill to remove it.
I would even go so far as to say that if they had NOT mentioned methanol, people would have thought the article was incomplete and misleading.
Trust me, there is more than enough ignorance to go around. No one group has a monopoly on it.

Never the less, not another "left" or "right" analogy again,,,please. Or, you'll find yourself moderated.
