I'm pretty new to the hobby with just some experience in brewing, but I've wanted to start for a long time now as I'm a big gin guy and want to experiment and understand the flavours involved in each botanical and perhaps distill them individually to get better at picking them out.
It's entry level, I know, but I just picked up a T500 reflux still, which I'm hoping is good enough for me to turn tomato paste washes into neutral spirits. Then, I've got a small water still that I've had one initial successful test run making a basic gin with.
Hopefully, I'll get better as I'm already having some issues from the first run on the T500, but I'm hoping this year I'll really start to understand the craft and processes and build up a solid knowledge of how it all works.
