After reading and learning so much from this forum, decided to make an account in the end.
I have a background in food science and have experience with beer brewing. I am distilling for 1,5 years now.
I ventured into distilling because of a deep interest in physics and process technology, I am starting to appreciate spirits but I was mostly a beer/wine type of man.
I've got a pot still head on a Grainfather (the StillSpirits Copper Dome).
And recently completed a VM reflux rig build, a thing of beauty made mostly from stainless but with copper reflux and product condensers (she's a beauty, will post pics soon). Has stainless SPP packing and sleek black insulation.
I started out making TSFFV, also have done a whisky, all molasses rum, and a Shady's sugar shine for making neutral alcohol. The neutral I've used for gin and to make a fan favorite incredible Limoncello and some fruit infusions.
I'm a tech geek and love calculating yields, log flow rates, temperatures, etc. Hope to get involved in some nice discussions.
All the best for now
