Hey folks.
I'm reading through the Wiki and it says my first post should be here. So, hello.
I'm reading up on distilling in preparation to get started in the summer. I've been reading tons here and elsewhere and have a book on the way, "The Joy of Home Distilling." I've also joined a Facebook group. So, doing a lot of reading before I jump in. I'm learning the search function and reading a lot of stuff I have questions about that folks here have already answered.
I've been homebrewing beer for 29 years and have 364 batches under my belt. I've brewed a wide variety of beers and have done a lot of odd techniques like turbid mashing for sour beers, spontaneously fermenting sours with bugs captured from the air, double and triple decoctions for lagers, etc. My kegerator has a Belgian Strong Ale and an IPA on tap, and some friends and I just drank an entire keg of a Czech lager I brewed.
Anyway, hello from an American living in Europe. Cheers. Thanks for having such a useful, informative forum.
First hello
