Hello, from the frozen North.
I got my hands on a 100 litre copper pot for about $300 CAD. I am gathering components to make it into a decent pot still, potentially with a double alembic setup if I decide to mess up my 8 gallon vevor pot. This post is about condenser dimensions.
I'm seeing a lot of 100 litre prefabs with a 4" riser/swan neck that reduces into a 2" condenser. Is this a sufficient diameter for a shotgun on such a boiler size? I can afford the 4" condenser, too, but would the increase in speed be worth the extra cost? I would like to run about 20 gallons of strip per week just because I am a bit obsessive, with a "Dragon's hoard" instincts about my hobbies.
Opposed to the condensation efficiency of the 4" shotgun, the 2" condenser is immediate compatible if I set up my current 8 gallon Vevor pot as a thumper (i completely skipped their cheap tiny thump/worm pots and used the big one as a base for 2" triclamp stuff).
I will probably be running 3x 2kw internal elements because I didn't think about warm-up time and already bought two of them.
cheers
