Cheap raw sugar

Post by HookLine »

Local Woolies supermarket is selling 2 kg packs of raw sugar for $1.49 (usually about $1.90). Cheapest sugar of any kind I have ever seen.

So of course I have stocked up. They didn't blink when I turned up at the counter with a trolley full (well, not quite 'full', but close  ).

Cheapest I've seen it here is $22 USD on 22.7kg sacks at the local wholesale bulk club.

That sugar you got is like $1.03 for 4.4lbs.

If I ran up on a deal like that, I would buy a whole stinkin pallet of it.

I get my raw sugar in 25 kg bags for $20au. Works out at .80 cents a kilo or $1.60au for 2kg.

Not quite as cheap as that, but close enough and mine is delivered to my house by someone with tight lips

But for those without that sorta connection, that's a good buy 8)

I bought a 25lb bag at costco today, 11.49 usd (not cheap). It seemed like everyone was buying sugar in 25lb bags today several had 2-3 bags
in their carts.

There's a discount store near me named Fred's. Quite regularly, they put a special on "Holly" brand sugar. It comes in 4lb bags and is $1.49 U.S. So, that seems about the best deal I can get around here without buying a 50lb bag. And you're right, you get some funny looks when you show up with a cart full of sugar bags.

:D

While we all know Goose doesn't produce shine or know anyone who does I figure some day, if you ever decide to actually produce shine, you can use that method Goose.

In the meantime, thanks for the tip for the rest of us. It's a good idea.

I'm just going to plant my own friggin sugar beets. To hell with them all .
