This is a practice page for people learning to edit the wiki.

If you click "edit", you will be able to edit the text and links here. Before you save, it's nice to enter a brief summary of what you did.

Editing the wiki is simple.

1. If you want to link to a page in the wiki, say, whiskey, you put the word "whiskey" in double brackets.

2. If you want to link to a page in the wiki but show different text, you add double brackets and a "pipe" character. As in Fire Water!.

3. To add an external link you simply add the link like this http://homedistiller.org/forum/

4. To add an external link with a description you put it into brackets and then list your description after the link like this The Homedistiller Forums. Note that the "http://" part is important here.

5. I put a category at the bottom of every page. This makes sure the page is added to a broad category of some sort. View any random page and check the last couple of lines to see how this is done. You can view the entire List of Categories

6. Don't ignore the helpful items above the editing area, for "bold", "italic", "hyperlink", "upload image", "reference" and so on. Honestly I'm not quite sure what reference is used for. I still have a lot to learn as well. The point is that you can edit pages to improve them, whether you are changing spelling and grammatical errors or editing the content to improve it. Every little bit helps.

7. Detailed instructions for editing this wiki are found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Wikitext

8. A couple of things regarding images. You can insert them as thumbnails with the size, position and description you want to use like this, or you can add them as complete images.
