Liquid solution made from [[sugar]] products intended for [[fermentation]] and eventual [[distillation]]. Not to be confused with [[mash|mashes]] which are made with [[grain|grains]], [[fruit|fruits]] and so on.

Washes made from refined sugar can be made to have as high of a sugar content as the [[yeast]] will tolerate. [[Molasses]] washes often are limited to around 16% sugar (8% [[ABV]] final  alcohol) due to other components other then the sugar in the [[molasses]] causing [[yeast distress]].
