Demijohn with wicker covering

A large-bodied, small-mouthed, long-necked wine bottle, usually covered with wicker, used to store wine or as a secondary fermentation vessel. Demijohns come in many sizes, including 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 gallon (Imperial). See also: carboy.
