Thanks much thought I had read that its important to hold at about 172.5 didn't realize that was only for reflux. Lots and lots to learn!!

final cleaning run
Running my sacrificial box wine run. Every thing seems to working well except my collection rate seems very slow only about 150ml in first hr. I am in pot still mode running one 1350W element throttled down to maintain 173 deg F at the head. getting a steady drip but seems awfully slow.

Thanks, Yes Ive been thinking I might use some chunks of bike innertube to cover the electrical connections.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Think I knew the answer before i posted. Think i will stick with the internal heater just a little nervous about running it flat out. I remember reading something about the router contoller. Is there a post with a diagram of your set up? Thanks again everyone!
