A couple more questions about ferrules: I am planning my column build with 2" copper. Type M shows 51mm I.D. and 54mm O.D. Ferrules seem a little confusing as some suppliers are listing the OD of the flange instead of the pipe. Then, you get the Chinese where anything goes in the descriptions.....

Ferrule questions
I am just planning my column build and want to get copper ferrules.
Are all copper ferrules tapered at the mating end? For the tri clamp to tighten properly.

Someone above said they could build a copper still for $100. I would like the parts and design please. In the meantime, a little over $100 for the Chinese junk and then a little smart safety modifications will result in a cheap working still....
