Anyone from Australia???

Post by Cracka »

Hi, Im from Sydney Australia. Just wondering how many Aussies out there in Distilling heaven?Anyone from Oz know where to source some structured copper packing from Australia. Gets pretty expensive through Amphora or Brewhaus with postage. Or any info on where to get hold of pure copper pot scrubbers would be appreciated. Also what would be the best brand of essences to use. I want to make Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and some liquers. Where are these brands available from.

Cheers Cracka

G'day mate,
Am just over an hour up the coast from you.

I hunted around everywhere locally for scrubbers and was having trouble finding some, so then I hunted all over for structured mesh and couldn't find any here in Oz and ended up getting it from Amphora - it's really not that dear - they are the cheapest with postage etc and I had it here within a week.

Regards to essences comes down to personal preferences but have a look here
http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... t=#6703621 (also as the "old n wise ones" on here say 'do a search on this site' and you should find some stuff on it )

You should be able to get most of em from your local brew shop.

Search around on this site and you will learn a lot - also read, read and read - especially the http://homedistiller.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow site and you will learn HEAPS I can assure you.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!
Regards,
The Brewmeister.

Cracka, Campbells Cash and Carry stock pure copper industrial scourers in their industrial cleaning section. Bust the pressure seal on them, unwrap them and then roll them up into a loose tube. Wash/steralise before use.
Last count i think there were quite a few of us here in Oz.

Mike's Brew has copper scrubbers, copper mesh, and stainless steel mesh. I've got stuff from him a couple of times and he is reliable, prompt, and easy to deal with.
