non-english pages
i notice in the referrer logs that we get a _lot_ of hits from translation sites. i'd like to figure out which languages are most popular, other than english, and start putting some info into the wiki in those languages if we can get some volunteers.
i've seen spanish, german and dutch sites referencing homedistiller and lamenting the fat that it's only in english.

From experience i know that the dutch sites on our hobby are made / hosted by colleagues who put their experiences on the net. But unfortunately most of those site cover only a small area or give incorrect c.q. incomplete information.
What i'm saying here is that it would be a great leap forward if all info would be accessible on one place in Dutch. I would therefore like to help our Dutch readers by translating parts of this website, if neccessary / wanted / desired.

[quote="AkCoyote"]There are numerous paid translation sites as well as a few free ones. It would simply be a lot of cut and pasting. [ /quote]
AK,
no offense, but translating computers do often no more than just literally transcript a text from one language in another. They don't give shit about grammatics.
There are a lot native speakers of languages other than English member here, they are also distillers so they know what they are talking about.
Transcripted texts often don't make sense because of differences in grammatics. That is where human translators come in.

well
i speak two languages..english and bad english. well, i learned koine' greek once which is useless.
we need to appeal to our foreign language folks and get them to start editing in the wiki if possible. i see many hits from translation sites on the web for people trying to read homedistiller.

well
find a page you want to edit, say "distillation" and at the bottom, after the category listings put in:
[[es:Destilación]]
then you will have made a link to the spanish page for distillation. it can then be edited with spanish info on distilling.
we need to get some of our foreign language folks interested somehow

For someone with a susposed crap-load of education yer not to smart Doctor.
No-one was teasin' you.
A few of the aussies here had a spot of banter with each other. None of it was directed at you. None of it was in any way makin' fun of you.
Get a clue and get off of yer High-Horse Doc... stop tellin' everyone how stupid and bad they are and how smart you are.
Nuff said.

When I read what goose posts to Dooley, he understands every bit and then translates back to me.
Not surprising since Dooley has transformed the English language into his own individual dialect. Sometimes I just ask him to draw me a picture.

I might be a Redneck for saying this, but I don't like pressing 1 for English.
