i have a question for you guys out there

i see you can get electrodes for your arc welder that is able to weld Stainless steel
has anyone used these

or do the welds start to rust after a while

Can't say i've used em but they won't rust they will be stainless. to get good welds even with tig you need to use a shielding gas on the backside of the weld, critical on thin material otherwise you get oxydisation? basically the backside of the weld will look like a mig or tig weld without any shielding gas.

i thought it might be cheaper and easier that going to a welder each time i want to modify something

Why not use copper? its easy to silver solder.

i would love to use copper
but my still and boiler are stainless already

What type of boiler do you have, is it a keg?

I you wish to, I could build you a copper still for the cost of materials, it looks looks you are local so postage should not be a problem.

What type of still do you have now, and what type of modification do you want to do?

i just have a pot still at the moment
but i have been thinking of this design for a while
i will see if i can throw up a few drawings tonight

I have got about 50cm of 2" lots of 1/2" and 3/4"
