Stainless steel welding
i have a question for you guys out there
i see you can get electrodes for your arc welder that is able to weld Stainless steel
has anyone used these
or do the welds start to rust after a while

Can't say i've used em but they won't rust they will be stainless. to get good welds even with tig you need to use a shielding gas on the backside of the weld, critical on thin material otherwise you get oxydisation? basically the backside of the weld will look like a mig or tig weld without any shielding gas.methmaker wrote:i have a question for you guys out there

Why not use copper? its easy to silver solder.

What type of boiler do you have, is it a keg?

What type of still do you have now, and what type of modification do you want to do?

but i have been thinking of this design for a while

I have got about 50cm of 2" lots of 1/2" and 3/4"
