Caramel liqueur

Post by NO1DLR »

I caramelized some sugar, and added it to some neutral spirit in an attempt to make a caramel liqueur, but the caramel goes hard and crystallizes instead of dissolving into the spirit. Is there anything I can do to dissolve it in the spirit?

You can caramelize the suger, than leave it in half a cup of water for a day or more.

It will disolve, than you pitch it in the hooch through a filter and water down to your desired ABV.
