Hey Im from eastern ontario and have been brewing beers and other beverages for a while. havent got a still yet but im looking into different designs and researching right now. i guess a few of my reasons for going into distilling are 1: making a wash is based basically similar to making beer and other beverages so its kind of like an add on to a current hobby and 2: many of my friends love my homemade booze and would probably enjoy a harder beverage. oh yeah and 3: all beer wine and liquor is sold through the government here so i have no problem stickin it to them .

Welcome aboard demonrichie -- you join a host of brewers that have ventured to the dark arts. You're right in that it's just an extension of what you've already been doing. My favorite line (and I cannot remember who to give the credit too) is, 'I'm simply concentrating my beer. When I finish I should have it in tablet form.' (I paraphrase)
