Cleaning a liebig
My 10yo son has taken an interest in "primitive" weapons lately and we've read up on several. We were making blow-gun darts with 8" bamboo cooking skewers and cotton string for the fletching and I got to thinking these blow guns are just about the size of the liebigs I use. I took out the long liebig (measures 40") and loaded a dart and the game was on. It was amazing how hard you can shoot those darts. After we shot it several times -- and had moved outdoors -- I noticed the cotton strings had become discolored. I looked through the liebig and it looked like it had been polished inside. Thought that made an interesting, and fun, way to clean out a liebig.

Yeah, my Liebig is 3/4" inside. My pot puked and I guess burn some into the copper. I got nasty looking product for 2 stripping runs. I ended up cleaning with a new wire bore brush in my gun cleaning kit. Wrapped some cotton patches to finish and she's good as new.
