I love bourbon and beer. I plan on doing a little distilling yes. A friend of mine's grandfather is a bit of a local legend. We're gonna try out the family receipe.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have an IKR hand to mentor you. We would love to here any info he has to offer. And recipes would be really nice. You can't ever have enough. Good luck let us know how it goes.

The "lowcountry" is the areas in SC and GA that are below sea level. I live in the Charleston, SC area.

If you love bourbon try the UJSSM recipe in the true and tried section. The best stuff ever!

Sorry I have been off the computer a few days but welcome to the forum. +1 on any recipes you want to share. I am from the opposite side of the US but I love the cooking in SC, we make a low boil in the summer that I picked up on my last trip and love the country way it is served! :D

thanks skunkape im from the other end of SC so i know what the lowcountry is i was just curious as to your general where abouts. I love charleston, visit there frequently. even lived there for a year in my younger days.
