Ever find a friend with the tool you need after the fact?

Post by Prairiepiss »

I was working on the grain mill a little at work today. When a friend at work came over and asked what it was. I told him its a grain roller mill. I mite add this friends grandpa is an old shiner that's given me some usefull tips. And liked the jar of corn white dog I gave my friend for a wedding present. So I'm not real worried about what he knows. Back to topic. He looked at me and said why didn't you say you needed some grain milled? I looked at him and asked why. He proceeded to tell me they have a grain mill they mount on the back of their tractor. That they can adjust from a course grind to flour. It will do a trailer load in no time flat. Really I'm almost done with a grain mill then he tells me that. :wtf: I told him thanks but I didn't want to bother him for a messly 50 pound bag of wheat. I would be ok with what I'm making. He said ok but next year I will grind you up a bunch of corn and bring it in. I'm afraid of how much he will bring me. But I can't look a gift horse in the mouth.

yup. Different day, same issue.

I usually find them AFTER I bought a new one, and dirtied that one up beyond return.

I know what you mean. It will come with a small price I'm sure. Maybe a jar for him and a jar for grandpa. But I think it could all be worked out.

Sounds like you should find bigger fermenters for next harvest? Or a corn bin to store it in ( maybe couple ton or so)
It is what you make it
