The African Grey talks like crazy. You would think someone was talking in the other room. The best is when my mother in-law lived with us. She spent most of her time on the phone. So Sadie picked it up. She rings like the phone. Perfect I reach for my phone all the time because of her. But she will ring like a phone. Then she answers just like the mother in-law. And carries on a whole phone conversation. She will also call the dogs. Then laugh at them when they come to her.
The blue crown Rio talks a little. Few choice words like tickle aflac and Rio. He likes to laugh and cough.
Risa is learning to talk slowly. But she is still quite young. Hello aflac Risa step up and no. Also will laugh at you.

They all tell the dogs to shut up if they bark. Wonder where they got that from?

By the way they are all rescues. We had 40 birds at one time. Most of which were rescues. We found homes for most of them some were smaller birds with a shorter life span. And we just gave them a good home at the end of it. We are down to 4 now. And we won't be getting rid of them anytime soon. They are part of the family now.

Years ago had a friend that had an African and lived in a trailer house. They had a tornado come too close and really messed the trailer house up. They taught him to say" hit the dirt" every time it thundered....

Gota get rid of the reptiles to have a bird. They carry something that will take out a bird. Just from handling them. Can't remember exactly what it is. That's my wires department.

Nice birds PP. Now if you could only teach 'em to proof your likker.....

My neighbor has a macaw that is VERY loud. The bird cage used to get put out on the back deck on nice days in our rather densely populated neighborhood and we would be treated to many hours of this bird repeating his master's favorite utterances, such as "Shut the f*** up!" , "What the f***?" and "Wassssssuuuuppp?" (from those old Budweiser commercials). Over and over and over. Another neighbor's kids started learning how to curse from the bird. Animal control was called and the bird hasn't been outside for a few years now. I do still hear it when walking by this guy's home sometimes (from inside!), still saying the same stuff! I guess you have to be careful about what you say around kids and parrots.

Oh yes they are just like kids. They will always pickup the stuff you don't want them too. And yes they can be very loud. Hurt your ears loud.

When I was in Saudi in the early 90s a shop keeper had a nice blue and gold. That before the Americans started hanging around only spoke Arabic. Then all the Americans walking by would talk to it. You know what they said. And that bird would course you up and down. Then laugh at you and say something in Arabic.

We had a cockatoo rescue that when you walked by his cage he would fart. Then laugh.

A farting cockatoo. Now that's funny.

There's a mockingbird that frequents our backyard that imitates car alarms. Usually at 5am.

Me and my buddies taught a cockatoo that lived over the fence near the school bus stop to swear.

His owner moved the cage after a while. Hey, we were only 12 or 13. We also used to turn his ford laser sideways in his driveway. He learn't to shut his gate. But thats a different story.

My cousins had a parakeet that would talk incessantly, until it sat on top of the refrgerator, then stop. Worked out that it was admiring its own reflection from the chrome hinge.
You design it, I make it. Copper and Stainless. Down under. PM me.
