yeah same here, i had a packet of cereal and 6kg(13pd) raw sugar.
i also bought a 25kg(55pd) pack dextrose for $39 from lhbs. normal sugar from supermarket costs equivelent of $32 for same amount.
figure why not for a cleaner tasting neutral.

I don't understand this. Sugar is one of the few things that buying in bulk doesn't get me a discount.
Sams 50# @ $28 = $0.56 a lb
Local grocery store 4# @ $2.12 = $0.53 a lb.
Yes its convent. But by the time I figure in gas to get to sams. I could buy 10# more for the same price.

Anything under 60 cents a pound is a good deal around here. Like PP said they usually don't give you a discount when you buy the large bags. I usually by 4 to 10 lb bags if the price is right. The last time I bought a store was going out of business so I purchased all their 10 lb bags (300 lbs worth) because they were 40% off. Still using it!

I live within a reasonable distance to several sugar mills, but cannot find a way to buy anything from them in bulk. I'd be happy just to get a small barrel of molasses or some raw sugar, but they don't list any contact numbers or warehouse info. Bummer...so close and yet so far away.

Walmart has the bigger 25lb bags for .1 cent cheaper than the 10's. I put 4 of those in the cart. That way they only scan one and then manually add the other three on the machine. 4 bags vs a cart full of 10lb pound bags.

25 lbs at wally world or 50 lbs at sams if i am near there....funny tho wife and i were at sams last week end standing at the checkout i had my 50 lb bag and some yeast and a few other items we get there...wife nudges me and nods towards the couple standing behind us...they had a pallet type cart with 200 lbs sugar and 200 lbs rice like 6 2 lbs packs of yeast and a boat load of flour...prolly a bakery i said to her... as i was thinkin wow there makin cakes with that and i would have one hell of a stock pile if they would foot the bill for me.

I am buying 2 bags @ 25# bRown and whatever is handy of white at CostCo.
Corn I buy a palate at a time... about three or four times a winter. I just drag a bag in when I need it....
