Have ya ever noticed...

Post by Sungy »

Have ya ever noticed how addictive this hobby is. I find myself walking around looking at things a little differently now. I see kegs as boilers and copper floats as thumpers. Copper pipe is not scrap but a new stripping head or product condenser. Glass canning jars are collection containers. Oh me Oh my the wifes kitchen will never look the same again. I used to look at a motorcycles and get all mushy. Now it a stainless "Big Ol Pot" that gets me there. Look what you guys have done......ya gave me a few pics of copper porn to look at and I had to look, and look, and look. Ya just cant look at a well constructed piece of copper porn with out sayin "crap", "man that thing is cool" "wish I had one" and eventually "I can do that!"

So to you all I say,
My name is SUNGY and I am a LIKKER GEEK

Yes it is addicting, I found this out by when we moved into our hose 15 yrs ago the basement was full of old bottles, canning jars, wine making stuff, ect. The house was full of shit 6 dumpsters full,( the previous owner had to leave in a hurry) well to make along story short dam I could of used all that stuff for my hobby now! I was also BSing with one of the lumber yard owners, we got talkin about brewin beer and making wine, he comes out of the blue with, the old farmstead you now live on was busted many times for having still sheds out on the swamps behind your house, ummmm should go take a closer look see, might find some history back there, it is about 400 acres I do not own but I am allowed to walk it, we shall see.

Yep, ... scraps of copper turn into parrots in my mind.... I have caught myself swinging by the stainless utensils in Walmart, wondering.....how I could use that thing??? I've asked at the feed store,.....now what all kind of grains do you carry? Can you get molasses by the drum?..... I work out in tha woods every day,...I've pondered, can I turn that hollow white oak into a barrel? The list goes on...yes its addictive, and I think its great!!!!

Don't worry about answering, but arguments scare me. Copper can be pretty quick witted.

Just makes me sick thinking about it. What's worse is when you give a bottle to a friend and they throw it away. That's almost enough to loose a friend over. :wtf:

Thats part of the deal,I gift you a bottle, I need the bottle back, empty, or if ya dont like it what ever is left,no ?'s . Only had to do it once, they almost cried! 3 days later 12 bottles show up at my house cleaned, sanitized, with corks. Lesson learned.
