British government monitoring internet of Brits

Hello to all and especially our British brothers out there. I recently read a article about the British government wanting to start monitoring the websites, searches, and all other forms of communication to catch and prosecute illegal activities. Supposably to catch child pornography and terrorist. This is sad for everyone and their freedoms, I know even with us and our constitution this is already happening here in America, but they don't troll the web prosecuting all illegal activities. Don't get me wrong the terrorist and kid touchers need to be gone, but it's just a sad day for everyone and their privacy over there
