Flavor Extract

Post by dueceskinny »

The wife went to some winter market and bought me some different extracts, thinking I could use them for flavoring. I read about flavoring on the parent site and didnt find much on extracts. You guys have any good ideas? Was thinking I could take some neutraland just use some simple sugar syrup (to make it a little sweet) and then add a little bit of the extract at a time until it gets where I wanted it. She picked up Watkins Brand - Banana, Rootbeer, Strawberry and a Raspberry. Any ideas would be great. Thanks Fellas!

Ok my recipe goes like this. A friend makes it all the time. But he uses everclear.

2 tsp of rootbeer extract.
4 cups sugar
11 cups water
750 ml 95% ABV neutral.

Heat water and dissolve sugar. Add rootbeer extract. Cool and add neutral. I'm not a big rootbeer fan. So I can't really vouch for this recipe. I do know a lot of people bug him to make them some.

I made his Orange soda like this. And kegged 4 gallons of it. And it turned out good. But it doesn't use extract. So I want help you out with yours.
