Don't know if anyone on the forums have tried this but it seems to work on a first pass.
Took the outside portion of an old 4 ton AC unit.
I cut the freon lines away from the compressor and removed the compressor.
Added a 24vac transformer to actuate the relay/contactor to run the fan.
Fit some 3/8" tubing as a supply and return.
Ran the return from the outside condenser coils to a small ice chest (used as reservoir only)
Put a small submersible fountain pump in the Ice chest then ran a supply line to the "purifier"
Sent the heated affluent from the "purifier" back to the outside cooling coils.
Worked so well I had to turn the cooling fan off (65F outside) and throttle the supply a bit.
Anyone tried this?

I'm thinking of trying something like that, could you post a photo of your setup? I'm running city water now
But thinking about changing.
Thanks

I use a reclaimed reheat coil from a VAV box. Same thing you have just smaller. I use a 35 gallon trash can as my reservoir and like you if the weather is cool I dont even have to run my box fan through it.

Sorry I've been a bit busy (roof blew off). I will try and post a pic when I can.
