Sump pump .. is it too much

I would run it with a tee up to approx 8 feet (column + boiler) to concentric vapour condensor (rads) . in future i will be adding Product condensor as well. I think my only concern is the 1 1/4" NPT discharge part... was hoping just to use garden hoses on a recirculating system. I'm pretty sure I can run a bypass with garden hoses out to my LM still. (220v 5500w on 15.5G)
Any input would be appreciated.

With a diverter valve setup. It could work. Where you would have a t with one side going to the condenser. And the other would have a valve and return line to the reservoir. Adjusting the valve would direct some of the flow through the condenser. While not fully restricting the flow.

But they aren't ment to run constant. They pump a little then shut off. Normally.

Check hydroponics pumps I picked up an Eco 396 submersible for less than 30$ and it's perfect. Can even hear it over the sound of the water returning from my worm box to the trash can I use

I have a 136 GPH pond pump I got I think at
Home Depot for about $50. 1/2" connections
works like a champ.

So this is the pump that I settled with. what I like about it is it can be used with regular garden hose attachments. the pump is meant to be restricted and has a 25 foot head. it's also meant for continued use with low draw. I found it at the local homo hardware on sale for $56. Not a horrible price. I pick it up next weekend so talk me out of it before i mess up.

In one of Jimbos posts he mentioned these 12volt pumps made for recirc on Solar water panels.
I am installing such a system at the distillery to preheat water along with solar panels to run recirc pumps on the stills.

I have been testing one on a 4 plate column. Currently the pump is wired to 110 volt stepped down through a LED control box. Works great. 2.2 gpm at 8' is plenty to cool rainmaker and condenser. Supply/return loop is 20'. 1.25 amp draw. A little pricey for some, current setup ran $100.00.
Silent running. Have to put your hand on it to know it's running. This one is attached to a 30' lead and I mounted it on wheels in case I would need to move it around and I had the wire and plant dolly so I figured why not.

just for those starting out that may read this thread, the $20- $30 pond pumps are perfectly fine for most applications. A majority of folks that pump coolant are using them. You really don't have to spend allot until you have specific requirements.

A 12 volt RV water pump works well also.

Find one that is 1 GPM like on most cheap
atv sprayers, or at most a 2.3 GPM as in most
RV's

You can run a bypass and throttle the flow with
a 3 way valve. Check the local RV store for these
in molded nylon by Flair-it. about 7 or 8 bucks for the
valve.

Not necessarily true. In many cases continuous duty pumps are fitted with float switches by the mfg. thus making them cyclic duty sump pumps. Same pump different app.

BTW, the spec sheet posted shows the pump is rated for continuous duty.

To the OP, yes you can run it but a bypass valve should be used.
