Tractor Supply coming to town
I got a phone call the other day from a local contractor who is handling the construction of the store here in town. Seems they needed someone to operate a boomlift and various other apparatus and I have a good reputation here in town for being safe and fast.
Stock in the distillery is where it needs to be so I jumped on the opportunity to make some extra cash.
Having spent too many years in construction I have always left a mark of some sort on every project.
This time the temptation led me to bury a jelly jar full of shine with a Woodshed label on it next to the second column in from the front entry. Kinda silly but knowing it's there every time I walk in will always make me smile.

I love my tractor supply, and you are my hero!!
I just have to settle for a smile knowing what a good portion of the grain I am buying is used for..

Re: Tractor Supply coming to town
LOL. That's funny.
They are building one on the highway going to the place we are about to move to. There is another one 10 miles north of it. I drove around when we went and looked at the place. There is a good grain feed store in one town. A feed store and a farm feed store in another. The other has two feed stores and a orscheln farm and home. I like them better then TSC. And the two TSC and another feed store in another town. All about the same distance from the house.

This one is going in right next to one of two feed stores we have in town and they have already decided to close up shop. Sad but I guess that's the direction even small towns like ours are headed.

The new thing around here is dollar generals. They are building them on every other corner. And as close to any family dollars. And in towns on the outskirts. That were all but gone.

Re: Tractor Supply coming to town
I was in TSC yesterday to buy a new snow blower (saved my ass today) and as often happens, I see an ole boy cartin' a bag of All grain up to the checkout. Seems like more often than not I see similar - some ole boy with a cart of SF or cracked corn. Now, that's not to say that all those ole boys are up to the same thing, but I have to wonder sometimes.

TSC has those little metal trash cans that will hold exactly 50 lbs of chicken feed. I have 1 for chickens and 1 for sweetfeed.Prairiepiss wrote:I was at TSC today. LOL Bought a couple feeders and a metal trashcan. To put rabbit pellets in.

Mr. Piss , I just had a brainfart concerning you and your rabbits and their scat . Save the poop , roll it in powdered sugar and offer it to strangers on the sidewalk as samples of a new candy . Be prepared with a backpack of new toothbrushes . When they spit your new candy out commenting that it tastes like rabbit shit ; tell them that it is and ask if they want to buy a new tooth brush ........ You might make millions .Prairiepiss wrote:I was at TSC today. LOL Bought a couple feeders and a metal trashcan. To put rabbit pellets in.

We got that last year. Which is owned by Wal Mart in case you didn't know. their business model is frequently to ease into a community with DG then bring in the big box. I have nothing against the company and am glad to see them build here. saves 130 miles of driving to one and keeps the tax dollars in our county.

Truchinbutch I tried that a few years ago and sold them as smart pills only I didn't roll them in sugar. Most said they taste like shit and I said I know wanna buy a tooth brush. Sold most tooth brushes and they said why did you say they were smart pills. I said cause they are and you are smarter now. They said they weren't. I said I can prove it. They said prove it. I said wanna buy a smart pill. After being cussed I said see you are smarter now than before you took it.Truckinbutch wrote:Mr. Piss , I just had a brainfart concerning you and your rabbits and their scat . I was just at TSC today as well buying those compressed wood blocks that you burn. Things work great. Also my future store for grains once I get my still up and runnin. Just ordered the last few parts I needed today. Another 2 or so weeks I'll be ready to ferment. Can't wait.
