Looking for connectors for Galvanized garbage can.

Post by planethax »

I am looking for connectors to hook garden hoses to a metal garbage can and also need some pass through fitting to have 1/2" tubing (1/2" outside diameter) sealed going in and out of the can.

I have seen some pics but not sure where to find such things or what they would be called?

Any tips?

The garbage can will be holding my copper coil.

Thanx.

Bulkhead fitting.

Lowes sells a plastic one for rain barrels. In two sizes. It has a NPT thread in it. You can adapt it right to a garden hose. For the worm pass through. You can get a NPT to compression fitting in brass. Drill it out so your copper worm will pass through it. Then screw it into the bulkhead fitting. And push the worm through from the inside. Then tighten the compression fitting down. It you could place it on the inside. So it could be removed later.
It'snotsocoldnow.

+1 on what Piss said.
Depot has them too in the section where all the little brass fittings are. A good caulk to seal up with is Sekaflex. It is way stronger and more adhesive than silicone.

After numerous hours online searching and two hours at homedepot in plumbing section with no luck I wondered over to electrical section and grabbed some goodies that I hope will work.

Two possible ways
Right side but will need a small section of 3/4" conduit to attach.

On left is another possibility but not sure if little plastic lock washer will be strong enough.

The 1/2" OD refrigerant coil will just barely pass through this, so hopefully with a bit of sealant it will hold

This is the bulkhead fitting at Home Depot I was talking about. I am pretty sure it is the same one Piss was referring to at Lowes also. Made by Watts. The ones that make all the little brass fittings and valves.
